Problem Statement

People are often too busy to visit a bakery in person and wait in line to buy cakes. Many want to order or even design their own birthday cakes their own way, but can't find an app that truly fits that need. Others want to bake at home but don't know where to source quality, trustworthy ingredients.

Solution

A streamlined ordering flow that lets users find, filter, and customize cakes with ease — plus scheduled delivery and a trusted source for quality ingredients, all in one app.

Result

  • As a self-initiated project, Bakery Sky was taken from research all the way to a complete high-fidelity design:

    • Delivered a full set of hi-fi screens covering the core ordering flow, from browsing to checkout.

    • Built an interactive prototype in Figma to demonstrate the end-to-end experience.

    • Grounded every design decision in the research and pain points identified earlier, keeping the flow fast and simple for first-time users.

Takeaway

Learned to ground design decisions in real user research rather than assumptions.

  • Practiced turning scattered findings into clear, prioritized pain points through empathy mapping.

  • Gained end-to-end experience taking a product from research all the way to a hi-fi prototype.
